Hey, Folks
I'm in the mood for better discs than the standard ones I'm using.
I've been looking at 3G 280mm with 20 groove jobs along with either EBC red pads or Mintex pads.
Who else has upgraded their front discs/pads and does anyone have any experience with the above discs & pads?

upgrade to the 302mm Rotors.. and use OEM pads...
I have upgraded mine with 310mm x 32mm direction veined rotors and Wilwood SL6 (6 piston) front calipers. Needless to say the braking is incredable. I would not recommend using drilled rotors, the only advantage to drilled rotors other than the cool look is the removal of rotating mass, but the reduction of this mass also reduces the thermal efficiency of the brakes, this higher thermal demand on drilled rotors can increase the frequency of cracking. Slotted rotors are good in that they act as cleaning grooves.

I have the 302mm discs but the biggest improvement is the pads, I use ferrodo performance which are a little cheaper than the ferrodo racing 2500 but they never fade on very fast road use, in the uk they cost around
S70 T5 CD '98 RICA'd 310. 302mm F/Discs. s/s hoses. F/strut brace. Koni FSDs Eibach 30mm lower springs.17inch comets. R front bumper. egg box grill, 6 changer cd, aerial down switch. k&n filter.polybushed control arm bushes & top engine mount.
I have Zimmerman cross drilled discs all around and PBR Ultimate Ceramic pads all around the difference is big from stock. I have had them for 1.5 years now with 12k miles on them and they are like brand new. I have driven 2002 M3 and brand new Legacy spec B and I can tell you that my brakes are on par if not better then those. I have stopped many times from 100mph to 0 with hands of wheel and people are impressed that this Volvo can stop like it is on rails. Contrary to Volvord (my respect) I would recomend highly cross drilled and sloted discs. Look at AMG and RS by Audi they all put cross drilled dics stock. PBR pads despite that are ceramic are quite dusty and big PIA to clean.

I bought these about 6 months ago from R1Concepts.
They are a good deal and don't rust (even on the edges) and look great due to the zinc plating, but really drilled is over-kill....you have less surface area for the pads to grip so you really don't stop faster. They were also a bit noisy compared to OEM rotors (though I've stuck with OEM pads). If I had it to do over, I think I would have just gone with slotted rotors. I will say though that they look really nice and make the entire car stand out. here's a pic of them on my S70 with stock Perfo wheels:

I have drilled rotors with mintex pads. They look awesome and stop well. The brake dust buildup is not as bad as OEM, however lately they have started to squeal on me. I have heard really good things about Hawke pads. I noticed that changing brake fluid helps too.
