V70 almost stalling under braking

First off I want to say thanks for the help over the past few years. You have been a huge help to me searching answers for my customers cars as a lurker. Well I have finally purchased a volvo for myself. A base model N/A 2wd that had the ignition issue. I have since replaced fuel filter air filter and brakes on this car. A new issue has started though. The check engine light has come on fan stays on after car is shut off even though coolant gague shows a okay temperature. Under a sudden stop the car has died twice now (thankfully not in traffic) but now when I come to a stop RPM drops and it feels like the car is going to die.

With the Electronic Thottle body in the 1999 on, idle issues are almost all caused by vacuum leaks in hoses or perhaps and ETM fault. The ETM fault almost always turns on the 'ETS' light on the dash though.

I was thinking about cleaning the throttle body I'll look for any suspect vacuum hoses. There is a plastic hard line that snaps into some plastic clips on the bottom side of the radiator core support that broke and I spliced back together. Where does this line go to? Maybe it got snagged on some road debris and pulled something loose.

Have you pulled any codes yet?

If the fan is staying on for a minute or so after shutdown i'd suspect the ECT sensor, or at minimum the ECT connector. That can make the computer think it's very cold out and over rich the engine mixture.

The hard line sounds like part of the evap system, which if it's leaking on any of the hoses from the intake manifold that can cause a terrible idle.
