2005 V70 Stumble at idle

Post by goldmandan »

Ok, when the car is running at idle or at a light in drive it feels as if the car is running with a miss. I checked with a scanner and no misfires are present. There is a lean code coming up...... forget what the code # is but lean code for sure............. vacuum leak.......... would that cause a noticeable stumble specially at idle? Memory tells me that a vac leak will cause idle to be erratic........ once you get on the accelerator it runs fine.......

any help is apprecaited!

Ok I ran the scanner and looked for stored codes it showed misfire on multiple cylinders then misfire cyl 4 and 5 I swapped out these for some extra coils I had lying around. Idle
Did get better but still not perfect. The misfire codes didn't come back yet. Is there a way of checking the coils to make sure they are good??? Also would the lean code
Cause a miss like that??? I think so but not sure

There are some measurements of coil resistance in threads here. There are some cheap junk coils on the market which don't last the > 10 years/150k miles the originals do.
