Hello,
I damaged my right rear abs wheel speed sensor as a result most likely of over pulling the hand brake and havng the brake shoe clips break off. I have to replace it and It seems the rear sensors are sold in pairs connected to a harness. To save some money, my mechanic says he only needs to replace the damaged one and hook it up to the old harness (he will take care to adequately insulate and protect the connections).
I was wondering if anyone could confirm whether or not the actual sensors are identical for all four wheels (I do understand, however, that the part numbers are different) such that rather than purchasing a paired rear set, could I replace only the damaged rear passenger-side one with a single front wheel sensor which I understand are sold individually rather than in pairs.
Thanks.

The front sensors are different from the rear.
I got a pair of rear sensors shipped for $20, from Ebay. China made of course but 1 yr in and doing great; can't go wrong with that price.
Because I only had one sensor go bad, I removed the wires from the harness, they unclip with a small screw driver (it took me 30 min, as it was tricky); I then used the bad sensor with a piece of string to fish the new sensor in place.

Hey thanks a lot for this! I found a lot of info including a diagram of the connector which I believe must be the one that was tricky. Is it safe to hammer out the old sensor (as it is already damaged and needs to be replaced) which I understand will be seized by rust?
