I just finished getting the 1/0 cables hooked up.
The voltage at the battery was exactly the same as the alternator output...14.00 !!!
I turned every electric option on high and the voltage was still the same between the
battery and alternator (13.5). It was late so I didn't test drive it but it looks like the voltage
drop is gone.
Where does the black vacuum line that is on the back of the air box go to ?
It came off and I didn't see where it attaches. Didn't spend a lot of time looking.
Thanks for all your input.

Hurray!
There are two vacuum line connections on the back of the airbox.
Upper one should go to the back of the vacuum tree near the throttle body.
Lower one loops around to the front of the airbox; there is a connection there at the bottom front of it.

I drove the V70 to work today and was in and out several times on calls and it ran fine.
I was waiting for the light to change and thought well I guess the cables were the problem.
The light changed and I went through the intersection and the car died just like before.
Let it sit about 20 mins and it cranked but was sputtering a bit and I didn't go far at all and it died
again. I though this is acting like its out of gas. So at lunch I called the wife to pick me up and I got
my trusty 1990 Jetta and drove to Carquest and got a fuel pump relay. Pulled the old one and checked
for voltage on terminals 15 and 87 and it was good. Next I put my homemade fuel pump relay switch
in and ran the pump so I started it up and let run a bit. Put the new relay in and went for drive and
so far so good. I'll update again after some drive time.

You're on the right track with the fuel relay jumper. Just be sure you replace it with a relay once you've done the testing.
