I broke the tab on one of mine this summer while changing bulbs. I was actually lucky to have the piece that broke off. I folded a piece of double sided foam tape and stuck it in the area that makes a 'U' shape when it's not broken. Then glued the tab back on with amazing goop automotive (a silicone type product that stays pliable). That way if the tab breaks the foam tape keeps the tab in place but is still spongy enough to allow the thing to stay on and be removed as it always was. I've taken it off and put it back on 2 or 3 times since just to check and see if it was going to need replacement. The last time I moved it to the right rear door so it could have an easier life, just in case. $0 fix as I had the tape and goop already.
