OK, I'm a piker. 186,891 Miles. At least its real since I advanced it - give or take - 30 k or so to match the real mileage out of the OBD ports.
I only made 126 k on my first 740 but I forgot that it was a 12k / year on a 3 year lease. US $.25/mile over - OUCH.

not usual here in italy that people have cars with 350k km,they normally change car every 3 years and people say here that a car that has 100k km is finished its life, they think that engines are made out of butter, makes me crazy some times, couple of weeks ago i was having a discussion with a guy,he said to me...what are you doing with that old volvo, its time to change it...and all those kilometers...i wonder how that car can still manage to work!!!!

do you believe it guys!!!how stupid people can get??

Claudio

btw people here get to crush cars when they have 10/12 years (i mean the scrap yard)

It's funny how cultural differences affect when people change out cars. In Japan, they start taxing owners who decide to keep high mileage cars due to environmental reasons.. It's why so many people from the USA ship over low-mileage Japanese engines for their Toyotas and Hondas.

It's weird to read that about Italy. My Vespa scooters will run 100k miles on the original engines without needing service, and they're only 125cc ;)

In the USA, growing up, 100k miles seemed to be the point at which my parents always started looking for a new car, whether we needed one or not. My highest mileage Volvo was my first 242 n/a 5 speed. 285k miles when I got rid of it. It was running fine, but rusted out. I drove an 86 245 5 speed that had over 230k miles.

My 850 currently has about 120k miles on it. It's from 1994, the first year the wagons were made in the USA, but everyone thinks it's newer due to the dark gray color and the 2002 S80 wheels I have on it. That's a good feeling!

you know what!i have a 95" 850 t5r Wagon and believe it,nobody can believe its 12 years old and it has 220K miles on it,the only thing that will make people undertsand the age of the car is by the number plate reading, here in italy you dont have personalzied number plates, they have a number sequence and from that you can tell the age of the car.

Another thing is,that all these miles really dont bother me,last week i was planneing to trade in the 850 (becuase it got problems) and buy a 99" C70 2,4L,but when i went to the mechanic to check out my baby we realized that the only problem with it s the turbo...so what the heck!!!!!take out some bucks for a new turbo and off we go again!!!just thinking of trading in the 850 makes my heart melt!the more i look at her the more i like her....
