anyone using a big brake kit?

How much hassle are they, are you happy with them,modifications necessary? Have any of you simply swapped out for stainless lines what effect does this really have? My 97r will need all new brakes when I put it on the road, so I want to use something that will stop the car without trouble from a decent speed. Seems like everyone forgets about brakes when adding so much horsepower. I have seen the offerings from ipd but not much else, I am sure there are cheaper options. My 95 turbo had generic slotted and drilled rotors and some kind .Of indestructible ceramics that I would not use again....

It would be nice for the OP to put the URL of the said big brake kit so we know what the OP is talking about.

Before anyone jump in with 302mm brake upgrade, factory 302mm upgrade brake bracket are out of production, new or refurbished.

This is just the bracket, at one point I thought they provided a kit with everything sorry.

Check on VolvoSpeed. I have read of a few guys who have upgraded to bigger brakes that are non-Volvo, but I think it may require machining or other mods.

Yes, it's expensive. Since 8602456 and 8251319 302mm brake bracket is no longer available new or refurbished. You have very few and costly upgrade options for the front. I recently sold a set of used 302mm bracket for $200 + shipping. Wish I have more to sell. If you do find a set, GRAB THEM and you'll have a cheap 302mm upgrade option vs stock 280mm.
