2000 S70 T5 Stalled on freeway

You're on the way there. When setting timing on CVVT engines always rotate clockwise for reference and don't turn anti clockwise so you can keep timing. Very simple. The CVVT exhaust side timing mark is always on the beginning of fall on one of the exhaust lobes so it constantly slips clockwise during setup. Once the belt is on rotate the motor by hand a couple of times to ensure nothing moved.

Greetings. Hell of a week. Sinus ,bronchitis. Aisin WP installed. Tensioner finger tight. Roller installed. Cams and crank lined up.
A couple of questions. Is the belt "muscled" over pulleys and cams ? Meaning no tension release like the accessory belt ? Never had to deal with temp set before on a tensioner before.
Where does the connector to coolant temp originate ? During my install, I lost sight of the ETC sensor connector . So I'm asking where do I need to look at to trace it from where it comes from the electrical side of car to connect to the ECT in thermostat housing ? If intake needs to be dropped, so be it. Had to do already. Thoughts opinions respected. Thanks

this may help...the coolant sensor connector is situated over by the ps pump. See item 43.

#13 is belt tensioner.
What all did you replace with timing belt job?

Timing job include a new Conti belt, INA tensioner and pulley, Aisin water pump. I was just going over the engine and noticed that I hadn't installed the temp sensor. Couldn't find a plug in the area of thermostat. There is a plug on the end of coil pack harness that I wonder if this is the connector I'm looking for. There also is a harness that is not connected that I found coming from a insulated group of wires just behind the back the of A/C compressor. This harness seems to be long enough to reach up to temp sensor. Looks like I'll to buy a new one to match up plugs since old can't be found.

Each connector is design in such a way that you can't plug them anywhere else except the intended connector -- i.e. male and female ends are engineered to fit each other -- no error is possible.

It is common with the A/C solenoid wiring. Unplug the A/C plug and the alternator signal lead and follow it back. It snakes up behind the alternator usually.

Depending on the brand of belt and location of sprockets the timing belt may need to be muscled on. Ensure the tensioner allen key is rotated to a position that provides the most slack.

Greetings. Went to local PNP and matched up wiring. Connector coming from behind compressor goes to temp sensor.Connector on the end of coil pack harness goes to CVVT sensor. It's been a while since take apart day and I just needed to look at an engine still intact to refresh myself. Took pics of things that I'll be working on the next few days.
Timing belt seems to be a muscle type job. My belt is Conti ,so I expect a challenge.

Yep wiring just as I said in my last post; just fitted an engine 2 weeks ago.

Taking off the crank pulley allows that degree more slack as you can slide the belt to the edge of the crank and do the same on the water pump and cam sprockets. Also makes it easier to refit the plastic guide around the crank pulley.
