Volvo s60 window sticks halfway up
Volvo s60 window sticks halfway up
I have a 2003 Volvo s60 and the drivers window sticks halfway up. I can then move it manually and it will go all the way up. No problem with going down at all. When it sticks the window leans forward slightly. Any ideas?

Rubbing a bit of talcum powder in the channels may help, but it sounds like you may have to pull off the inner door panel and adjust the alignment of channels. The mounting holes in the door structure should be slotted for that reason. I'm picturing a scenario where the aft channel is too far back, allowing the glass to get cocked at an angle when the motor is moving it upward.

As above. Also make sure the rubber trim at the bottom of the window - inside the car, doesn't bend and gets stuck when the window moves.
Finally, there has been an issue with a broken plastic piece http://volvospeed.com/volvo_repairs_how ... ement.html

It does seem to me to be to do with the channels and the plastic sliders. The sliders look in good shape as I only changed them last year. i will try the talcum powder and see what happens. i have a feeling that one of the arms on the regulator might be slightly twisted but that means popping the rivets and taking the whole thing out. That is what I was trying to avoid. Thanks for your response.chrism wrote:Rubbing a bit of talcum powder in the channels may help, but it sounds like you may have to pull off the inner door panel and adjust the alignment of channels. Interesting thought I will check as that would be such an easy solution. My thought is that it wont be that easy as the window only sticks when going up.oragex wrote:As above. Just took the door panel off the passenger side and found that the regulator arm on that side is perfectly straight. The one on the drivers side is bent so it looks like a replacement regulator either from a scrap yard or new. As we are selling the car after 8 years of trouble free motoring I don't want to spend too much on it.
