Hey y'all, first time here.
I've been the owner of this 98' v70 xc with 185xxx miles for about two years now. Bought 'er cheap due to a salvaged title, but cosmetically its in great condition and it still runs strong (when the parts aren't blowing up -___-). Slowly trying to get 'er back into tip top shape...
Anyway, my current trouble is with the torque mount. The front bushing was shot, and I just got done replacing it. Had some two piece all rubber bushing (I hadn't even come across during my research of what kind of bushing to buy) and I replaced it with an OEM bushing I purchased from my local Volvo shop. Installed it using the compression tool described in this thread (https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/replac ... shing.html) which worked great until it was looking like I was about to pull my washer through the pipe flange hole.
Took apart the compression tool, and found that my bushing was completely flush on the passenger side. However, on the driver side, it was sticking out. Probably a 1/16 of an inch before the beveled edge starts.
Is this gonna cause me problems down the road? What other options do I have for sliding that sum'bich in place? I tried tapping it a bit with a rubber mallet with no luck, and since the sun had set 30 minutes earlier I called it a day. No problems when I started it up, about to take it for a test drive....
Edit: Took a photo of it for reference.

Welcome to MVS, KM. It's doubtful this will ever cause any problem. The way these things fit in there, it's not likely to go anywhere. Just keep an eye on it, like each time you check your oil level.

Been there done that, once I pressed in the Lemforder bushing, this was all it went in.
Exactly as in your photo.
That was 3 years ago.
Zero issues. The upper torque bushing is thereto absorb the back and forth rotation of the engine.
So even if it is off by 1/16", it is not an issue.
PS: The force required to press the bushing is is TREMENDOUS. My tool bottomed out and the bolt was tight.
Anyway, don't worry about it.
