Looks like this is the original battery still in the car, PO didn't check the water level and look like 2 cells dried out, I am going to try to test it and see if I can save it. If not $203 a new one oem from dealer

Be careful you get the right height. Battery in the trunk shorting out on the lid isn't good

On edit...15 years on a battery in Canada? Hmmmm. Colour me skeptical

Most likely it is a "Genuine Volvo" replacement battery. If you get more than 5 years out of a battery, you should consider yourself lucky.

There is a battery from a local parts store with 730 cold crank for the same price as the volvo dealership, also it has 5 years warranty, should I go for it or should I stay with the oem from volvo? What would you guys do?

I'd go for it if it looks like a legit brand; Volvos are picky, but they aren't so picky that you have to use an OEM battery. As long as it has proper ratings and fits properly, there's nothing wrong with going that route in my book.

There are only a handful of companies that make batteries and Volvo isn't one of them.

Go for the deal! Check the date code on the battery to make sure it isn't old, but a 5 year warranty in Canada on anything automotive is good.

Guy an update on my progress, the car pass emission after I reset the light, I am so excited lol! I already bought a bunch of parts to pass the safety, brand new brakes all around, new inner tie rod, new boots for front axle, all fluid to drain transfer case, transmission, rear dif and clutch, new e brakes, new winters tires.
I want to change the plugs, should I change coils too or leave them? I want to do coolant flush too. Any other maintenance that I am missing? I think serpentine belt looks good. I will take some pics tomorrow. Cel hasn't come back since last reset! Crossing fingers if not then I have to troubleshoot the bcv and the purge valve or canister. Thanks guys gor the support so far!
