Back seat release broken
I went to put the passenger side back seat down today and I think it broke. The slider that releases the seat was suborn and then moved, but it doesn't unlatch the seat so it can be folded down. Is this something that can be fix/replaced/rigged or is the seat up for life now?

Well a Sawzall would bring it down but that might be escalating too quickly.
Ill snap a pic of my 2005 and post to see if you can figure out how to trick it.
On edit - SWMBO stole my 2005 to go to work - the audacity!!!
Quick look on my 1999 - from the trunk area, push up on the small black plastic piece, which lets the latch pivot forward with pressure on the switch - that should do it. The black plastic piece is just inside the hole you see, up top. Hard to get a pic.

I'm not quite able to picture what you're talking about. A pic would really help.abscate wrote:Well a Sawzall would bring it down but that might be escalating too quickly.

Ugh, the 2005 is completely different and I could not release the latch from the back.
You might have to cut off the plastic cap and replace from a PnP

tasca seems able to acquire/supply most if not all of those minor parts to fix that up and the prices weren't obnoxious. My s60 '06 when I bought it back in December the pull handle for the LH side rear seatback release was broken (my impression was a previous owner didn't figure out to turn the release knob trying to replace a light bulb and just yanked on the side trim until this broke). Several other minor items (this handle/mechanism, seat belt selector gate, plastic trim plug for the trunk keyslot, + couple other pieces) they either had on hand or special ordered with about a week to my door.

From looking at the parts diagram there could be three things that broke. I guess I'll have to get it down so I can take it apart and figure out which it was. The good news is that I know of a junk yard that I might be able to get the part from if I can't find it cheap on ebay.

19, 33 or 34 could be the culprits.
