2005 XC90 T6 AWD Odometer not working, etc.

Post by vw73intx »

I recently purchased a 2005 Volvo XC90 T6 AWD. When I purchased it, the transmission was inoperable; and the car could not be driven at that time. I immediately took it to Aamco and had the transmission rebuilt. Upon picking the car up, the odometer is not working. The speedometer and other dash gauges are working. There is also a check engine, brake, and ABS light lit up on the panel. In addition, there are messages saying Brake failure, and engine service needed. The car seems to operate and brake normally; however, the odometer is not working.

Has anybody experienced this? Any recommendations for repairs? Thanks in advance!!

Clear codes at indie or dealer (better still buy your own scan tool that can clear them) and see if they return. Lots of things get disturbed during transmission work. Disconnecting the battery before performing service work will avoid these issues.

It's unlikely the odometer will self heal; it likely needs a replacement DIM or a DIM repair.
