Was away from home for two weeks, back home and back at it... Little old lady hit me on the rear quarter during that time away. Ugh. Her insurance is gonna fix it though. She hit me pretty hard with a big Lexus SUV back there from the side, the rear wheel took the brunt of it. I must say I'm impressed - it still perfectly drivable many cars would have been disabled (wheel/suspension snapped etc).
Spark plugs changed, minor but noticable improvement.
Pulled the injectors, cleaned on the bench with carb/TB cleaner. This cured the "excessive/droney idle vibration" that could be felt through the chassis/steering. Valve/topside chatter quieted down and sounds very healthy, just like that very low mileage/dealer serviced S60 I looked at back in November. Runs like it too. I used a piece of clear vinyl tubing that squeezes over the O-rings tight enough to hold pressure, 1/2" ID sold by the foot at ACE. About 6" piece of tubing, fill 2/3 with cleaner, then pressurize with ~50psi from the air compressor and pulse the injector with DC). I do this two or three times both forward and reverse flow.
O2S yet to do, should restore the last 2-3 MPG I'm looking for then it's off to...the dreaded subframe bushings! I don't foresee any problems there. Pretty straightforward: elbow grease, hole saw and a torch to soften the plastic make it easier to break apart/pop the old one out. Rear Left subframe point (near the pedals) really makin a racket down there. Installing the inserts on the new bushings I like tight steering.

Interesting only after the new O2S installed PCM now detects misfire on #2. I was suspicious of a weak coil or two from the get go. #2 didn't fire at all after getting wet (cleaned dirt/dust off topside before pulling plugs/injectors). I baked it before reinstalling until the new coil arrives. Ordered an extra. Running better than ever though. Cruising econ up where it should be (37-38 @ 60MPH, 40+ at lower speeds). Dogs just a little under moderate acceleration...sometimes. Bosch CPs not reliable long term (in my book) I went with Delphi GN10334. Hell or high water this will be a reliable car that doesn't present constant problems. My experience is stay away from Bosch replacement parts whenever possible (just be careful some others wont work properly or be even more failure prone than the OE/Bosch stuff). Expensive stuff, cheaply made, excessive profit/markup: Bosch sort of like the Apple for the Automotive world...Great engineering/functional designs. Fail on fab.

I bought an Ebay set of cleaned/remanned injectors and have high hopes for the improved smoothness of my V70's engine.

Tip: Coat the openings (rail, intake) with a light film of petroleum jelly for easy reassembly. Use the Vasoline "100% pure petroleum jelly". Safe for injectors/combustion chamber/O2s etc (essentially refined oil and liquid/light paraffin which is a common ingredient in fuel additives FYI). Tip given to me from a parts counter guy once. He stated "it's what the pros use". Works much better than engine oil, and modern grease formulas often have all sorts of additives you don't want going through your injectors/valves/O2s etc).
Another tip: local parts store likely has the injector O-rings if you get damage on any of them... I'm finding that interchange doesn't always match compatible parts to these Volvos.
Injector O-rings Fel-Pro ES70599 ..For Bosch injectors on domestic vehicles - same injector package size (different flow rates/spray pattern etc) goes into same size holes...no need to wait for UPS etc or risk a fuel/intake leak if you find yourself in a difficult position...
Same with the Delphi coil packs (interchange darts around various Volvo models with identical engine configurations but omits some specific models/years). Delphi corporate site lookup http://partcat.com/delphi even gets it wrong - they point me to the "shorter" GN10331 when the correct CP for my '06 S60 2.5T T2 is the GN10334, which oddly has zero models attached to it. I suspect, mentioned in another thread, some of the replacement suspension parts (specifically struts/mounts/bearings) aren't matched up to specific models/years properly in the interchange either. Some sites/interchange data get the T2/T4 engines mixed up. Kind of a mess-- have to be very careful ordering parts for this guy.

Watched a couple DIYs regarding the subframe bushing replacement.
Crazy ideas using several size bolts then whacking it with a heavy mallet to get the new one in...
No silly!! Utilize the weight of the car and position your floor jack underneath to press the new one in. Easy peezy presses in straight and clean 5 seconds flat. Amateurs! LOL
Edit: clean the dirt/surface rust out of the subframe holes and apply a little engine oil. Needs to be smooth/clean otherwise it may try to hang or not start in. I didn't change the front ones they were fine, could pass for new (merely installed inserts).

Those CPs are specific to the B5254T2/Vin59. They had a PN listed for the B5254T4, if that is what the your R uses.
