^^As above that seems normal.

I uploaded for the sake of discussion two videos with the tensioner on my engine, the first is at start up (cold engine), the second is with the engine fully warmed up. As mentioned, there is no movement in the tensioner. I don't think a tensioner that is 'shaking' is necessarily bad, that might be caused by some other pulleys on the timing belt. But if the parts - tensioner and roller - where rather inexpensive, I would keep an eye on them. To check them for smooth rolling, with the engine off and cold I just push the tensioner needle to the right with the thumb, which temporarily releases some tension in the tb, then check the pulleys for smooth rolling with the other hand.

as a side note, since i just picked this car up i cant remember if this issue was there when i bought it but it seems that when i come to a stop the RPM's drop low then pick back up at when i fully stop. Could this be the start of an ETM issue? Or is this normal. The car was only $700 and i bought it because the PO could not get it to pass NYS emissions inspection because the code is on for EVAP system, gross leak. Im going to track that down next. He just has the valve body in the tranny replaced 6 weeks ago too. Nuts!

I had this identical thing. I'd start with cleaning the throttle body on both sideds of the butterfly valve. I think there is a seal on the TB, just careful to clean the surfaces and place it back correctly. The other thing I did at that time - but not sure if it helped or not - was cleaning the intake air temp sensor (located near the MAF sensor on my model) which had a thick crust on it. Since the MAF sensor is right nearby, a few shots of MAF Sensor cleaner (only) is not a bad idea. The MAF sensor is recessed and needs to be removed from the air tube to be cleaned.

What's the year and model if the new car??

A bad EVAP system leak could cause that idle wander,so chase that down first

Well on this one you won't have an intake air temp sensor as this function is built into the Denso MAF, therefore cleaning the MAF is the right choice.

Not certain of how evap systems on the non turbos are effecting intake air but I doubt it would alter idle speed. You may be at the beginning of a failed ETM however cleaning of the throttle bore is crucial to narrowing it down.

I uploaded a short video about adjusting the tensioner. In the video, the belt was already in place, but the same procedure goes when installign a new timing belt and tensioner.
