Engine Oil Level Dipstick

Hi guys, Where should my oil level be on the dipstick? Mine is right in the middle of the line where it says 1.5L----> mine is directly in the middle is it good or ok to be in the middle or should it be all the way to the end of the level? It says MIN and MAX mine is directly in the middle.. Thanks guys...

Hi! When my car is cold and before i warm up it when the engine is cold is when I always check it, So when engine is cold is it fine to be in the middle? As long as its above min and below max even when its cold right? Where should it be when the engine is hot and where should it be when the engine is cold? Thank you so much for your helpful information I really appreciate it.

Always measure oil level after the car sits overnight,before starting the engine and on level surface.
If you need to check it on warm engine,just make sure that is is on level surface and wait 10-15 minutes after you turn the engine off.

Oil level will be slightly lower on warm engine than on cold,but it's because it didn't returned to oil sump yet.

Not Volvo specific but in general check the oil on level ground and with the car cold. When the car has been running, unless you wait several minutes, oil will still be distributed throughout the engine and not in the oil pan as it hasn't drained there yet. My old A6, if I check it say when I am getting gas, I'm under estimating the amount by as much as a liter or more. For me, cold engine (before it has been started and the pump has slewn oil throughout the motor) and equally important on level ground is how I do it. Though probably extreme, by the same token I drain my oil overnight so I'm sure I get most of the old stuff out. Hope that answers your question.
