Your S70 is a turbo? The check engine light isn't related to the PCV most likely. You'll want to get the codes read to see why it is illuminated. As for your other problems, first make sure the breather box isn't hooked up incorrectly. You also need to make sure the oil passages into the block are clear. And finally you may want to read up on CN90's modified PCV hose: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... hp?t=53448

Once you have the PCV issues resolved replace the seal under the oil cap.

You're misunderstanding me. You do not want to replace the oil cap or that seal until AFTER the PCV is working correctly. You're going to jettison an important oil seal or two doing that.

Did you clear the oil passages in the block?

Are you familiar with the modified PCV procedure I linked you to?

Cleaning the PTC is part of the procedure so you should have done that as well... I don't think its very common for them to actually need replacing.

I had a similar situation. Ended up being the brand new FCP flame trap broke at the plastic seams. Kept of having mini BP incidents everywhere I went. Sucky job to do twice in the winter.

Beigg, turbo cars don't have a flame trap so that can't be the problem here.

Darkskies, check the link I posted in my original response to you. I really think you'll find it quite helpful.

Maybe we are misterming the part in question?

Bolts to radiator side of block in a vertical manner and feeds a spider web of vacuum lines, one to the top of engine and one to intake tube at compressor then a few other areas.

I think there's a point where too much engine blowby overwhelms the amount of "suck" available with the standard hose setup.

I upgraded to the 5/8" hose mod on my GLT and the PCV system is working well again.

Beigg, what you're describing is called the vacuum tree.

101, yes exactly! That is the updated PCV procedure I linked to above.
