check engine light - catalytic converter - 1990 760 turbo
I just got a check engine light -- and temporary loss of power. After cooling once, runs fine. Apparently no cooling or oil problems. Someone said problem might be clogged catalytic converter.

Does it show any fault codes?

I don't know what fault codes my old 1990 Volvo has, or how to retrieve them. Does it have a place to connect a code reader?

There is a diagnostic box on the left strut tower. Instructions for use are in this thread: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/chat/p ... c&start=12

Although headed for 740 the basic principles are the same for the 760. I am not sure if there are more fault codes for the 760 but if you retrieve something you don't understand post it here as I have a full list of codes.
