240 Electric AC Condenser Fan

Does anyone know more information about the Electric AC Condenser Fan shown in this picture:

What model year 240's came with one of these electric fans?

I have a 1985 245. No fan. AC is so-so when stopped at red lights.

I am thinking about adding an electric fan to my car. Wiring it directly to the battery via a 30 amp fuse and a relay to the AC compressor clutch.
