Radio wires. Power.

Post by james321 »

Okay. I have the original sc 816 radio/cd in this car. 2000 v70.
Doesn't work. I bought the car a few weeks ago. I pulled out the radio and all the wire were cut. The plugs were still in the radio. I wired together all matching wire colors, but no luck. There were two fat green wires left over ????
Anyway, I'm not good with stuff. I have a multimeter but don't understand 90% of it.
But, according to this picture of the SC 816 plug, pins 3, 8, and 9 should be what I put my meter on. Yes? And the meter set at 20 DCV?
And I should get voltage? Yes? If I put the red on one of these pins or wires, where to put the black meter pin? I'm finding it hard to find any voltage. Yes, I have checked the fuses. There are 2 that pertain to the radio. They're fine.
Thanks in advance.
Jim
