Thanks beigg,
What is CTS? (Sorry, just new to a lot of this, and trying to save some cash on the repairs!)

Alan.
CTS Coolant Temp Sensor.

MAF sensor would be a good item to swap, maybe with a salvage or known to work item.

Well, I unplugged the MAF and the car did the same thing..started then died about 10 -15 secs later. I opened the air box and sprayed some MAF sensor cleaner in to the pipe with the MAF sensor, and I used an electrical contact cleaner on the connector.
I started the car, and it started up, and continued running for about 30 -40 sec, getting very rough and rumbly, but it eventually cut out and died. It did run longer than usual (10 -20 sec.....but it did still die on me).

Then I pulled some codes from the A-2 OBD port...and got a ton of codes including "MAF Sensor signal" "Misfire on at least one cylinder" "Misfire on Cyl 1" "... Cyl 4" "...Cyl 5". I wasn't sure about these codes because I thought they are probably reading the fact that I disconnected the MAF to test it earlier in the day, so I cleared all the codes and started the car again, it died after about 10 sec's, and I immediately tested the A2 (Fuel System) codes and there are none!

Any other suggestions really appreciated!

Thanks,

Alan.

OK, ended up taking it in to a mechanic and he replaced MAF and everything seems to be good now (also replaced fuel filter but he didn't think it was causing the problem).
I was surprised because I thought the car should run / start with the MAF disconnected (which I tried)?
Anyway, seems to be good for now.
Thanks for all the help and suggestions.
