- This particular Bosch coil used in 1993-1998 rarely goes wrong but a used one at junkyard is about $10.
Ebay has a whole bunch of them. Use only Bosch, used or new.

- Wires should be Bougicord.

- Cap/Rotor should be Bosch.

- Spark Plugs should be in decent condition (tons of info in forum).

Once you have all of these checked, you should not have a ny spark when looking at engine at night.

PS: Check all ground wires.

Yeah, the keep on rolling for hundreds of thousands of miles - you've probably had a little bad luck, maybe a PO who didn't keep up on the maintenance, etc.

cn90's right - the coils rarely go. Sure they may lose some oomph over the years, but a 10 dollar junkyard part is almost a completely sure thing. I don't agree on the "only Bosch" thing, though - upgrading the coil is a very common thing, so if you want to go with MSD, for example, do that. Don't however, buy lookalikes - only Bosch, or known upgrade/"performance" manufacturer.
