WS Wiper problem 93 850

Post by waynej »

Can anyone tell me how to bend the wiper arms so the wipers touch near the edges, not just in the middle? Thought I saw it here before but can't find it now. The search MVS function can't find it either. Both of the arms put lots of pressure on the wipers when straight up or towards the center of car. Drivers side wiper quits touching glass just a little to the left of straight up. :?:

take the wiper arm off and wrap a rag around it while clamping the lower end of it in a bench vise. pull the arm toward you about 1/2 inch. this will set the arm back down at the high point on the windshield, usually works for about two years before you have to readjust it again

Thanks Ken, that sounds much safer than the VolvoSpeed method. Sounds like we should order new arms after 6 years as the aluminum could crack after a few bendings. :D
