everyone that tries to order me an alternator for my 1994 volvo 940 orders the wrong one. i have a denso alternator 100211-8632 14v 100 amp on mine with the main wire, a clip on red wire and then a blue wire. all the other ones they order dont have the post to bolt the blue wire. do i need to use the blue wire?

I would prefer the Bosch alternator that everyone keeps ordering for you. Remove one of the nuts that holds the case together and attach the blue ground wire, replace the nut. I have this type alternator on my 1988 Volvo 760 Turbo Wagon. It's a three wire (including the blue ground wire) alternator, not rocket science.
