Electric fan always on? 1996 850SE

Hello dear forum users, I'm having a slight issue on my 850SE. My engine fan's wiring once burned up for some reason, so I got my mechanic to replace the wiring for it. Now the fan is constantly on when I turn the key. Could this be that the fan's motor broken and is working overtime, or could this be caused by the wiring replacement?

Maybe your mechanic wired it on at all time. I'd take it back to him and ask.

I agree with tryingbe, find out if the relay has been bypassed. Side point but remember, if the ECT goes bad, it will sometimes cause the fan to run all the time.

If this constant on state began after it was returned,
I'd agree that something smells fishy in Sweden...

Where might the ECT be located at? And actually before I get the wiring re-done, the wiring wasn't technically original itself. It's been exposed and taped up, and the cause of it to burn up was that when the fan stopped working, the exposed wiring was exposed to the engine heat and burned. But anyway, what are the perils of having the electric fan continuously on? Overcooling?

The fan is on even when the A/C's off, but it doesn't run when the engine's off. Does having the fan continuously on cause any issues?
