P80 Wagon interior stuff?

Post by beigg »

Did any P80 Wagon's have past or current interior support?

Looking around to see what was all available or is still available brings back pretty much nothing.

Stuff like rear seat delete kits, cargo inserts, console options, stowage upgrades/adds, and anything else would drive a bit more perk for these dying brick breeds, but that's my opinion.

example, even tho it's for a totally different vehicle: Image

Would there be any heavy interests for interior aftermarket options?

You talkin' bout aftermarket stuff? There were actually a lot of optional little niceties for the wagon cargo area from the factory - cargo nets behind the back seat, cargo covers, a dog cage to keep the fuzzy ones in back, cargo nets for the space behind the wheel well, third-row seats. There was a heated rear seat option that's pretty uncommon.

More looking into options to make it like a "working" wagon not the family and friend (pets) transporter.

Personally, I like my wagon for it's miniaturize sport utility vehicle abilities, performance, uniqueness, and affordability (insurance/upkeep compared to a comparable SUV) . Rarely do I use it for multi-persons transit as it was never intended to be used for that either. Odd, I know... but I do own a volvo, so being odd shouldn't come as a surprise!

Putting the 2nd row seats down flat makes it a mighty useful space. What more are you thinking of, like tie-downs?

That 2nd row seat panel has been long gone. Wasn't fully there to begin with, but wouldnt have mattered from the isolated weight put upon top of it. Also, the full sized spare never did fit under it well. I carry a full size spare, hyd. jack, tool-kit for pretty much all my vehicles during a rescue and recovery mission, and when winter rolls in, a dig-erself-outta-a-rutohh setup (shovel, wet attire jump suit, bag of sand).

Having all the above and then running to the store for normal items can make the vehicle overwhelmed with organization and develop a lost inventory list. Lessening the lost inventory whilst being able to store the tools/spare stuff would be achievable by taking that 2nd row flip up system out as well as the rear seating in favor of a robust false floor panel insertion ordeal. Oh and I would be able to anchor the sub's with amp's in a more ideal location to my preference. I dont like where they reside now, they need to be more "hidden" and lower positioned for a cleaner look and audible projection. I might just have to go procure a bunch of material to "make" this all a reality. I'm getting the feeling no one either understands the criteria or know of the kitting being sought-after given the example in the first post.

The spare tire site under the 3rd row seat panel, not the 2nd row, so I'm not following you there. I keep a full size spare in every one of my p80 cars, the cover is flush in all of them. You may have to dremel/angle-grind out the old seat belt attachment bracket, if there is one, but I would definitely get a cover back there on top of the spare as having one long, flat surface makes organization much much easier. It may not be what you're looking for long term but will get things in better shape until you find (or make!) it. I use my wagon for field work all summer so it always has all seats down with an assortment of boxes and tools in it, I really like the long flat surface, can access from the rear or either one of the sides as needed. I don't have subs to deal with, I can see that would be an added hassle.

I was describing the history along with how things are being 'fitted' currently. I know where the spare tire and the roadside kit all goes. That doesnt matter since I have replaced it all with the above tooling and part.

Stuff like that is hard to find for these vehicles, I found this website.

http://www.volvopartswebstore.com/produ ... egory=7945

The vehicle I selected is a 98 V70 so if yours is different you'll have to update the vehicle to make sure it fits.

These are just things that you can order from Volvo, it isn't exactly what you're looking for, more kinda what j-dawg was mentioning but maybe something there for ya. If I find anything else more suited I'll post it here. I've done what you're talking about but on a friends Ford Escort, we fabricated it out of wood though.
