XC90 T6 cylinder head/turbo removal

Post by Squirk »

Hi guys.

I have seen this question bouncing around on different pages, but I have no difinitive answer to my question... how do I get the turbos off of the T6? I'm almost at the stage of removing the heads but I can see brackets, oil and coolant lines and I'm not sure what the correct procedure is.

I guess my options are:

1) remove turbos then remove the head
2) disconnect the lines to the turbos and remove whilst still attached to the head

I've read people struggling to gain access to one of the oil lines - does the angle gear need to be removed?

Any help would be much appreciated! I have a snapped timing belt so I can give regular updates on the repair if anyone is interested?

Thanks.

Steve.
