Check brake light message 2001 s60

Post by gammon34 »

It's seems my brake lights are stuck on while I'm driving my 2001 s60. I've replaced the bulbs and the stop/brake light switch. My brake lights seemed to work for a couple of pumps of the brake pedal after replacing the stop/brake light switch...and then nothing. (the error message returned). At first I thought my brake lights were not working at all. However, under closer examination they seem to be stuck on.
Is there a trick to installing the stop/brake light switch? I've check all my fuses. It's my understanding that my cruise control will not work if I have a faulty switch. However, my cruise works fine.

Any help would be great!

I'm not sure how you installed the brake light switch but this is the VADIS method:

FYI: I just replaced my brake light switch. Unfortunately, it did not fix my problem. I can only assume that something in the actual wiring is causing this problem...maybe a short somewhere.

This is driving me MAD!
