Cv boot replacement

Post by men2be »

I'm replacing both inner and outer front axle boots.
Included in the Volvo kit are 2 packs of grease for each boot.
The inner has two different amounts. The outer are both the same.
I can't find any information on greasing the joint. I think one is for the joint and the other is applied to the inside of the boot.
Does anyone have any knowledge on this? VIDA shows outer but nothing about two packs of grease.
Thanks!

Normally you would apply one packet to the bearing assembly itself, making sure to work all the grease into the joints. Then take any remaining grease and squeeze it into the boot. Place boot over bearing assembly making sure it sits property. Then you can clamp the other end and also push out a little air to make sure the boots not under pressure and grease pushes out.
