Completely normal. Every car I over own does it, except the ones that have limited slip differential.smoggyama wrote:The wheels spin in opposite directions while in park.

It moves through the gear selection. I'm doing the PnP for the second time. I would like to confirm that the wiring and connectors are good. I feel and hope the problem is external to the trans.beigg wrote:Is it possible to be locked in winter mode (forward use only) and the cable is unable to physically change the gear selection?
Life is like a box of chocol- make that an engine compartment. You never know where the tubes go or how to rout a belt 'less you read the diagram on the underside of the hood. Do it right the 2nd time. So when all else fails, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.

Hi All,
I hope that everyone (US holiday) had a great Thanksgiving. I find feelings of gratitude, family and community to be pleasurable on a deep level. We are all quite fortunate just to be alive -in the first place, and we are the result of generations of innumerable diaper changes and failures of celibacy. What does this have to do with anything? Well, A Volvo wagon is the preferred conveyance for the groceries and people that share that day together.
My observations are: Wheels counter rotate in P and N when turned manually; wheels spin in forward direction in D, 2, and L -they seem "labored" and make a periodic clunk. In R, nothing happens unless I rev. the engine to maybe 2500 RPM where I hear a louder version of the same clunk. The car starts in P and N, and the reverse lights only light when in R. Approximately 500 to 700 miles ago I drained and replaced some ATF in two pint increments. Are all ATF's created equal? About three months ago I replaced the axles and rotors, control arms and tie rods etc. I would like to believe the problem lies with the wiring or an accessible solenoid..
