What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
I haven't noticed such thread here on 2001-2009 Volvos... Might not be a bad idea to have one, so we can share tips and tricks?

No takes? I'm going to bump this because this could become a fun and interesting thread.
I will add that I did absolutely nothing to our P2 vehicle today- nothing with the other Volvo's either except putting gas in my S40.

Holland salvage . Pick and pull, cool guys to deal with. North Billerica, probably 10-15 miles west of Boston.abscate wrote:Where's a good yard in BOS area? I'm close to Erie, but in BOS weekly on business
I snagged all the torx screws that hold the spark plug cover, they don't bother charging for the little stuff, dealer wants $35 for the set.
Gonna rehearse which tools I need before heading back there, gonna have a field day.

Drove to work in the S60. Put some beer from work in back seat for the ride home (Harpoon UFO Winter Blonde for the Bostonians). Drove home. Pondered tire rotation and checking the oil tomorrow AM. Driving 35 min to pick some people up that are staying over for the holiday in a few minutes. Driving back.
I did get a ticket on I-89 South the last Monday morning. Lasered me doing 86 in a 65. Thankfully cut it down to 80 in a 65. Forgot they have lasers with pinpoint accuracy and can choose people. It's not just a blast of radio waves. Hiding behind the guy in front of me didn't work out.
People think Volvos are slow. The get up and kick pretty well. First ticket in 11 yrs. Oh well. $185 vs $435. I'll take it with a smile.

Finally got around to removing the rear bumper, I borrowed a hole saw and drilled out the 4 holes needed to install the rear park sensors I bought a couple of months ago and had painted to match the bumper and routed their harness to the left rear REM area.
All I now need to do is install the dash switch and take it to the dealer for some software to initialize the system (appt. next week).
The park sensor controller took all of 30 seconds to plug in and mount after we found the very buried harness under the taillight)!

Mod note. Jim passed away in early 2022, his contributions to this forum are immortal, and he is missed. RIP

This is a very cool feature, my V70 came with it. I didn't impress me when I first got the car. But now I use it all the time and really appreciate having it.JRL wrote:Finally got around to removing the rear bumper, I borrowed a hole saw and drilled out the 4 holes needed to install the rear park sensors I bought a couple of months ago and had painted to match the bumper and routed their harness to the left rear REM area.

Worked on CCM 'calibration'. Having a weak air flow, it seems a flap wasn't fully opening
