Hello all,
How difficult is it to replace the AC blower motor on a 1998 S70 sedan?
TIA,

My new Haynes manual says (of the Heater blower motor, which I assume is the same thing):

1. drop the trim panel from above passenger footwell
2. undo 6 screws from inside glovebox, remove glovebox
3. disconnect wiring connector at motor
4. detach cable conduit and wiring plug from motor
5. remove blower motor (4 screws).

I have never done it but they make it sound easy.

Hello,

I wanted to follow up with you guys and let everyone know how the blower motor fix went. I took the pasenger's area cover and glove box out, this provided access to the blower motor. I applied 12 volts to the motor and the motor spun. OK, the motor is fine. I removed the little black electronics gizmo that's attached to the air housing. I opened this box up and saw nothing out of the ordinary...no evidence of burnt components...nothing. I plugged everything back up and the AC system worked. I ended up removing the fan to inspect for possible obstructions and found small pieces of black plastic material inside the housing, but nothing major. In the end, I'm not sure I did anything that would constitute a fix....but now the thing works. At any rate, I very much appreciate the board's help and suggestions.

Regards, Oscar
