Hi guys, new here, just picked up a 2005 s40 2.4i automatic thats has serious issues.
1st car wont come out of park unless i put a key on the little hole of the side of the gear shifter..
2nd car will not display gear its in on the instrument cluster
3rd car will only drive in 3rd gear, took it to volvo and they pulled things apart to check what fault was and when they put it back together it drove and gear box changed for 2 days then went back to being stuck in 3rd gear only and i noticed when this happened it had the "abs anti skid service required message".
when the dealer scanned it for fault codes the found the following codes
ecm-a00b
bcm-0020
bcm-0057
bcm-0101
cem-1a41
cem-6c08
cem-6c16
cem-be6e
list continues with but most of the fault codes are related to door locks and airbags etc.
anyone with knowledge or an idea of what this is please feel free to advice me.

Get VIDA and ask for the detailed fault tracing. (A VMware version is available on this site) For example:
593: BCM-0020 Wheel sensor right front. Faulty signal
Faulty signal
Checking the connectors on the brake control module (BCM) and wheel sensor
Ignition off
Check the connectors on the brake control module (BCM) and the wheel sensor. Check for contact resistance. Check for oxidation
Note! Check to see if the wheel sensor cable is fault-free and correctly installed. A defective lead must be replaced, repair is not allowed. For information on correct mounting: Transmission input speed sensor, front wheels
Reinstall the components, connectors, etc.
Raise the car so that the relevant wheel is clear of the ground
Ignition on
Read off the wheel speed for the relevant wheel.
Spin the relevant wheel and check that the wheel speed is updated.
