2010 XC70 power operated tailgate

Post by kahl »

Hi,
I just got this 2010 XC70 T6 and I am addressing several items. The power operated tailgate does not go up or down upon activation. I can hear some type of motor operating but it does not translate into any movement of the tailgate. Any hints or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I got this car for my wife to replace her 02 Passat that has 275K on the odometer. This car is a lot different from the 5 V70 XC s we have in the family. Much more refined, completely different ride.

I wondered if you got a conclusion to this issue. I am currently having the same issue and would like some advice.

What I found was the two hydrolic hoses from the pump to the actuator had a crack in the lines. Replaced lines a refilled the hydrolic fluid and unit works perfectly. The head liner needs to be dropped from the drivers side back up to the B pillar post to accces the actuator. The pump unit is in the drivers side wheel arch in the tailgate.

The hoses leave the pump in the wheel arch and travels up the rear tailgate pillar to the actuator.

Hi there. I've just bought a 2010 xc70 and the electric tailgate lift works fine but there's slop in it. I'd like to get in there to see whats loose. Do you recall the order of operations needed to remove the interior panels in order to access that actuator assembly in the upper/back corner where the tailgate hinges?
Thanks,
VB
