Hi folks. I noticed this past weekend that my odometer works intermittently. It will randomly work or not work. I've read the gear fix but am wondering if I may have another issue before I change the gear out. Thoughts?

I think you are on the road to not working at all, the gear is probably kinda stripped but not completely. If you want it to fail permanently press the reset button a few times while driving 
Seriously, it most probably is the beginning of the not working phase. You might want to wait till the weather warms up tp keep the dash from breaking
