Turn on parking lights when car is off ? ? ?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows how to do this . .
A lot of cars, not just volvo's but most Euro cars you can turn on your blinker when your car is off, and it will turn on front and rear parking lights, usually they dont use the main lights, so does anyone know how to use this cool feature.

Using the blinker stalk on my Porsches turns on one side only (i.e. left side parking lights or right side parking lights). To turn both sides of the parking lights on, you just turn the headlight switch to the parking light position.

If the Volvo has this feature, it would work exactly the same way.

I do not know if the Volvos sold in the US have this feature or not. In all honestly, it's useless in the US. The purpose is for narrow European streets when you'd park for a few minutes to run into a store and be partially into the street. The situation really doesn't come up on American roads.

European Volvos don't have this feature. In the UK, and probably the reat of Europe as we are now supposed to have harmonised laws, parking without lights is legal in areas with a 30mph speed limit if the vehicle is on the correct side of the road and not less that 32 feet from a junction, or in a recognised parking place. Outside of those parameters all parking lights must be displayed, not just one side.
