Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.
Me again... Hope y'all don't mind all my questions.
There is this part under the hood near the main fuse box that looks to be held together with electrical tape. I'm not sure what the part is and if it is strange that it is taped up.
I'm guessing by the number and nature of your questions that your Volvo might be a recent used car purchase? Paint overspray in engine compartment, broken headlight wiper, loose courtesy light in door, could this car have had some poor repair work done after some big time front end damage?
I agree, the taped box is no big deal unless you're having strange electrical issues, then I would probably take the tape off and take a look inside for bad splicing.
