Unable to open 2004 v70 Tailgate
I have cut an access hole underneath the internal tailgate release in an attempt to get the back door open, I pulled the inner carpet liner away in the center but could not see much, hence the hole, I cut the the yellow and gray wire and tried to power the solenoid directly and got no movement. I think the solenoid is stuck or held in the in the out position. The inside lock button is stuck in the down position and has resisted my efforts to pull it up. I wondering if I should unsrew the solenoid and see if that helps. I have been fiddling with it for a week off and on and feel I will break something soon. Working outside in the Maine winters is not fun. Any ideas how to manipulate the latch to open are very welcome
I have unscrewed the actuator {one screw visible in the picture #20 Torx and the whole assembly seemed to relax and I can pull up the lock button. When it warms up a bit I will get my wife to push in on the outside and try to pry the white plastic piece to the left. Anybody know how the actuator works?

I think I have some pictures of my 1999 which I recently replaced. The tailgate latch is amazingly complex
