T5 or GLT motor? Could be the coolant rubber hose at the turbo. Those get oil soaked, swell and eventually fail.
Other candidates at the back of the engine are the two heater hoses at the firewall plastic coupler.
You'll have to refill with water and get under it ... but it should be pretty obvious. Do not run the motor for more than a few seconds without coolant. These white block motors hate to be overheated.

Get a VOLVO OEM turbo hose, if that is what you need. Do not get URO, scantech, Pro Sweden, etc... IPD silicone hose is a super tight fit.Darkskies65 wrote:I've hopefully added a picture of the hose I believe is leaking. My problem now is what it's for and how to get it off
So, do yourself a favor and get a VOLO OEM hose.

You'll have to support the vehicle safely if you are somewhere you can do that, crawl around with a good light, some rags and find where the system is breached. How quickly did you lose your coolant? Did it all drain out? I can't load your pic because I have crappy internet at the moment. Previous suggestions above about where to look first are a great place to start. Don't run it long enough to get it up on ramps. Use jack stands. Didn't overheat?

It's called the turbo coolant hose, part number 6842190.
Read this before you buy the part, it is one little hose but a PITA to replcae: viewtopic.php?t=55306
I'd definitely get the little hose along the back of the engine and replace it at the same time (30713305) and even consider the lower radiator hose while you are in there cussing about this job.

^^^ concur with erikv11.
I found that the clamp on the turbo lower hose was impossible to get to from underneath the car. A 1/4" drive metric socket set, two 1/4" universals, a collection of 1/4" extensions and a lot of patience was required.
The small upper hose I just cut off. The replacement is newer and more pliable to wiggle on.
And do a good job cleaning off any residue from the metal nipples where these hoses attach.
