I got a replacement radio from a salvage yard. It did NOT have a cd player with it; just the radio. The radio that was in it didn't work, at all. I plugged this radio in and it works, partially. It will turn on, but I cannot get it to work, program stations or anything. Only some of the menu keys work.
I'm just wondering if it won't work because there is no cd player attached to it or if there is some way around this. Thanks in advance!!

What was the issue with your original radio?
FYI, the actual radio is located in the roof, back by the tailgate. The radio is then connected to the control head, the CD changer, and the amplifier by a fiber optic network. It's called the MOST network, which stands for "Media Oriented Systems Transport". A couple of things to know - if you break the fiber optic chain and don't reconnect it, nothing works. Also, for anti-theft reasons, I think they need to be programmed to work with each other. Dealer can do it; I'm not sure about other places.

For US market there is no anti-theft function turned on for these cars.Roger_850T wrote:Also, for anti-theft reasons, I think they need to be programmed to work with each other. Dealer can do it; I'm not sure about other places.
