A friend of mine posted this article on Facebook... that is incredible how well that 850 held up! I don't think a modern Camry would have held up like that!

I have some friends that do the local demo derby circuit in the summer. When my head gasket blew one of them asked if I was going to junk the car, because he wanted the body for the demo derby, he said Volvo bodies can take and deliver an incredible amount of punishment.

Sure can't. Volvo seems like the kind of company to do that, too. They should give them a good discount on a new V60. Or V90...

Yes, not a "new Volvo", which the story says. But looks like a late-model XC90 first generation, certainly dealer Stage 0'red, so good for the family and the dealers. This is a good story. I found this when that CBS story's "new Volvo" claim didn't click for me with the photos.

I was at the dealer just two weeks ago -- Rickenbaugh Volvo -- looking for a P3 XC70. Good people there, Service, Parts and Retail.

Let's see. 5 dealerships, probably 40k ASP for that nice looking clean XC70, 8k a piece

A prime time news ad with great marketing material for safety inclined purchasers plus follow on views...a lot more than 8k

Clever decision by the dealers.
