Hi i had to rebuilt the head on my 2004 volvo xc70 and therefore lost all the marks i made on it for timing. Does anyone know how to set up timing on a 2004 volvo xc70 2.7Turbo from total scratch? Thanks in advance for your time. I am also installing new rollers, belt and water pump so it's really from zero that I am starting. can't seem to find any dependable year pertinent info.

Go ahead and follow the advise of jonesg, but simply put there are markings on the back of the cams...the front (intake) cam faces up and the exhaust cam faces down with a straight line going across that will be level...I believe that's what I recall to get the cams in the correct position...then all you have to do is make sure the lower crank marks are correct and you're set to go. Also, make sure the CVVT is correctly sprung (two if you have two of them on your car) and torqued or you'll have to do the job over when you get a CVVT code.
