An 850 T5R, I have been counting the little flashing light on the diagnistic socket, under the bonnet.

Great tool, saves the need for a computer with serial bus etc, as required for BMWs.
I have been searching this forum looking for an explanation as to why some sockets in the diagnostic socket pins are not functional. On close inspection two of the sockets have no connection wire, nor the expected metal connections inside.
It appears that they were never there, I see no clipped wires or anything like that. I was worrying that the dealer I bought the car from had been even more unscrupulous than I thought, and has some how isolated the error codes from the turbo, ECU and other essential engine parts, to pull the wool over my eyes.
That is A5 TCU (Transmission Control), A6 Ignition System, neither appear to have ever been connected, and are certainly not now.
Before I start accusing the dealer of fraud, can anyone tell me if this is to be expected. Is there something I should be aware of? Anyone with experience of this, I appeal to you for information.
Does anyone know, should those sockets work, if not, how does one check the turbo and engine codes?
Thanks in advance.
