2004 XC90 T6 CEL misfire codes very rough idle

Post by xavif310 »

Hello, I have a 2004 Volvo XC90 T6. with 100k miles. The CEL is blinking. Checked codes and shows misfire in 1,4,6. I changed, coil packs and same. I changed the spark plugs, same. Changed injectors and same problem persist. If I let it idle, it sounds really rough. I dont know where else to check. Thank you

Is there a certain procedure to check the MAF? Also, how would i go about performing a vacuum leak test? aside from visually inspecting. Thank you

First...all advice below... is at your own risk since I have not done them on the XC90... but here is what I have done on my other cars to test MAF. Unplug it and if car runs the same then it is the MAF thats bad.

Vacuum lines Start with visual and audible for the vacuum lines. There are ways to test vacuum with a tester or with smoke or with carb cleaner spray but you would have to research those yourself (youtube) or maybe someone else could weigh in on that stuff... and you decide if that's what you want to do. With carb cleaner I believe if you spray by a leak car will run better or worse for that second while the spray is there hence indicating a leak.
