The Mystery of Diagnostic Code P1011 Topic is solved

OK so i've searched far and wide but nobody has for sure answer on what the diagnostic code for P1011 exactly means ?? Has no description to it and tells me to refer to my manual every where i go i see people solve it with the VVT solenoid being replaced. I drive a s60 2001 Volvo 2.4l non turbo and would like to make sure if this is the case before i Order a part without wasting my money.Can anybody who's encountered this code please give me some needed in site on this code it would help me very MUCH !!!

P Codes do not give you a definitive "this part is bad" diagnosis.

I don't know which Engine Management system you have on your S60, but on another car the Volvo P1101 maps to ECM-7100, knock sensor circuit fault.

If you don't see damage to the knock sensor wiring, Ill almost guarantee that the knock sensors are not the problem. You usually get this one when something is wrong with timing or valve timing, or any rough running condition. I got this code from an induction leak , once.

Appreciate it a lot ! I'm gonna try and check the vvt see if that's the problem but my car runs smooth. The code came up after I changed the rear 02 sensor it came on with a cylinder misfire 5 code both have disappeared except this code which I can't seem to assume it's variable valve timing related. I'm going to order the vvt solenoid and replace it hopefully it will do the trick. What's an induction leak btw? Thanks again for the information!

*Update* I took a look at the vvt solenoid and was clogged with oil cleaned it and the check engine light has not yet returned. Appreciate the information again!*
