Need More Information On My Volvo V70

Post by SantiagoV70 »

Hi guys first time on this forum apologize for being a Noob

I have a Volvo V70 1998 Non Turbo 5 Cylinder VIN#:YV1LW5585W2493687

I'm trying to fix and replace the head gaskets which include the head gasket kit, the intake and exhaust valves along with the timing belt and water pump and I want to make sure before I order the parts online that I have the right engine type online I have. I need to know what size engine valve stems I need cause its giving me an option from 6mm to 7mm and I just want to make sure I get the right kind. I also am asking if anybody has recommendations on best place for price on these parts to ship to Florida.

Any information or help will be most appreciated

Look up your engine code ( on your emissions sticker under hood) and then use lisle Volvo parts finder to confirm your parts

You will find FCP, IPD also responsive by email and they know these cars well.

If you''re also doing a valve job consider buying a good rebuilt head from Clearwater Heads (Fl) for about $400.
Save time and perhaps money .
Their heads are excellent and will be done RIGHT!

FCP Euro is the same price, for the most part, to ship anywhere in the continental US. I highly recommend them for any parts you need, they have the best customer service I've ever dealt with and a lifetime guarantee on all parts.
Like Abscate said, FCP and iPd both are very knowledgeable about parts. Get your engine serial number off the back of the block or the timing belt cover sticker (assuming the cover is original), as that will help make sure you're getting the right parts. Also the production date on the car.
Either someone here might know or someone at iPd can help confirm the correct valves for your car.

Lots of people on this site recommend Clearwater. This may be a good option for you.

FYI the value stems on my 1999 T5 head are described as 6.6mm diameter via Alldata. You definitely want your engine number supplied to the vendor.
