In my spring cleaning, I found an Engine Control Module & Transmission Control Module I acquired from a 2001 T6. I knew they wouldn't work in another car, but I couldn't make myself throw them out. I'm less of a hoarder now, but want to confirm if they are just paperweights.
I know the VIN, and I know they are from the same car. The only information I could find is this thread saying they could be reset inside the original car. However, that original car is long parted and scrapped.

The TCM will work elsewhere on a vehicle with the same firmware level.
Also a dealer can upgrade the firmware quite easily on the TCM.
