Does anyone know what these two flashing orange lights mean?
They are on the AC control next to the on/off and AC bottons. The AC system works fine and has done so for over year but occasionally the lights flash. AC functions fine in Phoenix AZ no degradation noticed in operation.

It means that the climate control unit is mad about something. It is most often a blower motor or the cabin temperature sensors but you will need to get your codes read by someone with a Volvo scan tool to find out for sure.

it doesnt mean your air conditioning isnt going to work. It just means that one of the controls either in the climate control unit itself or as mentioned the automatic duct controls arent working, or one of the sensors is not reading properly.
Unfortunately you have a 96 so you need your codes read with a reader to find out what the issue is. People with 93 to 95 should be able to read the codes with the on board diagnosis.

Could be as simple as blowing the crud out of it with some compressed air....these sensors are in the dash for S/V70's but right above the front seat grab handles (above the doors) on 850's. If that doesn't work then you may need a new sensor.JRL wrote:Usually a bad cabin temp sensor
