Front seats get SIPS protection, fired by SRS module rather the seat impact sensor

No more fun throwing things at seats

Remember to disconnect battery before seat SRS connector or else you pay a $100 dealer reset tax.

I always get nervous pushing that panel back into place since it's broken right at that point on my car. I'll have to try throwing things at one at the junk yard to see how sensitive it is!

Quick release seat belt? That would be nice. The manual seat side panel is a pain to get off (on my car at least) and I had to fit a ratchet back there with the panel on to change the seat belt. Quite the pain...

ECC sensor is in the dash on 1998 models as well. I think I need to replace mine. Cleaned it once and my ECC code still comes back...

I might have one off the parts car if the number matches. It was ECC

Evan put me onto the 99 release tab -the seat belt disconnects from the seat with one click

Yeah, that's pretty convenient. The -1998 has a big ~17mm bolt.

I have a Bank-1 Lean code on my brand spankin' new '99 S70 and I'm thinking it's the PCV. At 167K miles, I doubt anyone has touched it. Anyway, it's been pouring rain and it's parked outside so I haven't done the glove test yet, but if it's the PCV, this thread is going to come in very handy. Thank to the original poster and those who have contributed!!

I thought the cabin temp sensor was in the headliner on earlier models? Not that it super matters in this thread.

We sure the airbag code can't be reset from DICE? I know my old VAG-COM had no issue on VWs airbag control module - though those had limits as to the number of times they could be reset.

The 99 V70 XC has the cabin air temp sensor between the steering wheel and the center dash console (radio, CCM, etc) to the right of the auxiliary switches.

The airbag light should be able to be reset through DICE, right? I can reset mine with Vol-FCR and BrickDiag.
